SAVINGS METHOD:  Free personal pan coupon for my son from his school’s reading program.

My son participates in a reading program at school; read 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week for a month and get a coupon for a free personal pan pizza.  This is the first month that he had time to finish all of the reading, so he went out with my husband for lunch.  (The girls and I stayed home because I am dairy intolerant, and we are testing my daughter to see if she is also.  There’s not much we can get at a pizza joint if we can’t eat butter or cheese :))

My husband ordered the large three topping pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and tomato ($10).  My son got a pepperoni personal pan pizza (normally $4, but he got it for free).  At the restaurant they ate four large slices of pizza and two small ones from my son’s personal pizza.

My son was delighted with the meal, and my husband liked his choice.  What was even better was the price–$10.95 plus a $2 tip was $12.95. (We saved $4.00.)  There was enough pizza to take home for a lunch for both my husband and son and another dinner for each of them.

Recap of previous meals out:

Week 1 – Mitsuwa Market Place – spent $32.95, saved $0.

Week 2 – Pizza Hut – spent $12.95, saved $4

Total spent this year – $45.90, ($22.95 a week)
Total saved this year – $4.00
