It’s impossible to plan for everything but the posts above can help you get your house in order. In order to be financially prepared for the future, the key is to keep debt low and have about 6 months of savings on hand. If you have tons of savings and high debt levels, those monthly repayments will eat into savings a rate you can’t believe. Work on your debt first because it’s more expensive – then add to your savings and you’ll be on your way.
